Day 1: Welcome to Uganda – Transfer to Kasese

Gateway to the Mountains of the Moon

Your adventure will begin with a warm welcome from Amethyst Wild Safaris professional s guide who will brief you about the incredible expedition ahead. You will then depart Kampala or Entebbe and journey west through Uganda’s spectacular countryside. Pass tea plantations, crater lakes, rolling hills, and charming local communities before arriving in Kasese, the gateway town to the Rwenzori Mountains. Here you will enjoy magnificent views of the mountain range as anticipation builds for the days ahead.

Day 2: Nyakalengija (1,615m) – Nyabitaba Hut (2,652m)

Enter the Mystical Rwenzori Rainforest

After breakfast, proceed to the Rwenzori Mountaineering Services headquarters for registration and briefing. Begin your trek through Bakonzo villages before entering the lush rainforest of Rwenzori mountains National Park.the trail winds through towering trees, giant ferns, elephant grass, and dense tropical vegetation. Day 3: Nyabitaba Hut – John Matte Hut (3,505m)

Through Bamboo Forests and River Valleys

Today’s trek takes you through bamboo forests and moss-covered landscapes toward the spectacular Bujuku Valley.Cross the famous Kurt Shafer Bridge at the confluence of the Mubuku and Bujuku Rivers.After lunch at Nyamulejju Rock Shelter, enjoy your first views of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke, weather permitting. Then continue through alpine forest zones before arriving at John Matte Hut.

Day 4: John Matte Hut – Bujuku Hut (3,962m)

The Land of giant lobelias cross the Bujuku River and venture into the legendary Lower and Upper Bigo Bogs. Thanks to elevated boardwalks, this once challenging section has become far more accessible. Here you will witness the surreal Afro-alpine environment featuring:giant lobelias, giant groundsels, everlasting flowers, rare mountain flora. Arrive at Bujuku Hut overlooking the magnificent Lake Bujuku with panoramic views of Mount Stanley, Mount Speke, Mount Baker

Day 5: Bujuku Hut – Elena Hut (4,563m)

Approaching the Roof of Uganda

Today’s ascent leads toward the dramatic high-altitude landscapes surrounding Mount Stanley.Climb through steep valleys, rocky terrain, and alpine environments before reaching Scott-Elliot Pass.You will continue toward Elena Hut situated beneath the towering cliffs of Mount Stanley.This strategic mountain refuge prepares you for the summit attempt ahead.

Day 6: Margherita Peak Summit (5,109m) – Kitandara Hut (3,979m)

The Ultimate Rwenzori Achievement

Today is the defining highlight of your expedition. Wake before dawn and begin your ascent equipped with crampons, Ice axe, harness, helmet, headlamp, traverse glaciers, rocky ridges, and snow-covered slopes before reaching the summit of Margherita Peak, the highest point in Uganda and the third-highest peak in Africa. Standing atop this legendary summit is a moment few travelers ever experience. You will celebrate your achievement with breath-taking views before descending through Scott-Elliot Pass to the beautiful Kitandara Lakes.

Day 7: Kitandara Hut – Guy Yeoman Hut (3,505m)

Day 8: Descend to Nyakalengija & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
