After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Uganda’s most popular savannah wildlife destination—Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Along the way, stop at the Equator village ( Kayabwe) for photographs and an exciting demonstration of this famous geographical landmark. Equator is the imaginary line on the world map that runs east to west and divides the earth into the southern and northern hemispheres.
As you travel through the beautiful Ankole region, keep an eye out for the majestic long-horned Ankole cattle, one of Uganda’s cultural treasures.
Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Prepare for one of Africa’s most rewarding boat safaris.The Kazinga Channel this is the water stream that joins lakes Edward and George and is said to have the largest concentration of hippos in the world. It is also known as the “center of ecology” due to many animals and bird species recorded on its banks. It boasts one of the world’s highest concentrations of hippos and attracts massive numbers of elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and countless bird species on its banks. Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking Adventure
On this day , venture into the forests in search of our closest living relatives—the chimpanzees.
Tracking may take place in Kyambura Gorge or Kalinzu Forest or Imaramagambo Forest; the choice is yours. This activity is a bit challenging but very rewarding, so expect to walk for one to four hours depending on where the chimps will be on this day. As you trek through lush tropical vegetation, experienced guides will help you locate a habituated chimpanzee community. Day 5: Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today, you will have an early morning breakfast and a game drive around this section of the park in a final game drive, journey south toward the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions
We will enroute, explore the famous Ishasha sector, one of the few places on Earth where lions regularly climb and rest in trees.If luck is on your side, you will capture incredible photographs of these rare big cats lounging high above the savannah. These cats tend to climb trees in the mid-day sun for reasons you will be able to find out.
Arrival in Bwindi
Home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, many other primates and over 380 bird species. Bwindi is one of Africa’s greatest conservation success stories and a UNESCO World Heritage treasure. Arrival will be in the afternoon and relax before tomorrow’s life-changing gorilla trek.
